About this kids pack
Wild Trail Scavenger Hunt is a two-page outdoor observation PDF for ages 5–10. Page 1, “Backyard Trail Checklist,” is for use with an adult outdoors. Kids check items such as something rough, something smooth, a Y-shaped stick, three leaf shapes, animal evidence, human-made versus natural objects, a non-green color, a sound, and a favorite shadow—then sketch one discovery. Safety notes: stay with an adult; do not touch unknown plants, insects, or trash with bare hands. Page 2, “Park Trail + Window Watch,” offers a park list (bird or call, pinecone or seed, splitting path, water, insect to look at only, trash to report) and a rainy-day window list (animal-shaped cloud, raindrop race, windy tree, umbrella, visiting bird, colorful jacket or car), plus reflection: what surprised you, what to hunt next. The pack turns walks into noticing practice—no special equipment. Two pages of checklists only; the learning comes from what kids actually find outside, not from a separate habitat textbook.
